Default Sub in Del Sol?

Does anyone have any pictiures of a decent sub setup in a Del Sol? I was thinking about taking out the storage behind the seats, and getting a custom box made to fit between the seats. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you decide if you were going to sell it? If so/not can you make me one? How much?

JL Audio makes an awesome stealthbox for Del Sols. I have one in mine and love it. The fit is perfect. The box sounds great and are not really noticable from the outside unless you know what you're looking for.

That looks clean! I called the dealer in my area, and they said the stealthmode boxes go for $500, and he said for a del sol it would be around $700, that kinda blows. I think I'm just gonna have to get one custom made. Thanks for your link though.

Don't forget the JL box comes with 2 8W3v2-D4, good luck finding someone to build a custom carpet covered fiberglass box for under $500-$1000, [without subs] we charge $1000 for a copy of the JL box, [but for bigger speaker (s)] does not include sub (s), and Flatland2D is correct the JL box with two 8s sounds great. 94

I installed a JL stealth box, JL Evo XR 6.5 comp, and a JL 300/4 in a Del Sol and it is one of the basic installs I have ever heard in a Honda (that wasn't a hatch).

Thanks, it does rock and I've enjoyed it! If It didn't appear I was going to be getting out of Del Sol's I would keep it... I hate to part with what I make

This was designed kinda like a stealthbox, in that it can be pulled out and the storage pockets go back in with no permanent damage

I originally had a Stealthbox and enjoyed it, but I think too much is never enough when it comes to bass. two 8's sounded great, but 3 10's sounded better!

Yessir... I'd really like to see it go to someone local so they can hear/see what they are getting.... and it's not a light box/subs to ship....

Idon't want to sell my amps/highs. the amps are worth more to me than they are cash...Ol Kicker ZR's a ZR600 on the subbies and a ZR360 for my Dynaudios...

The box was made for the subs and they fit exactly flush into the box, and I can convince a friend to sell his matching sub. I really hate to part with the subs, I still think they were incredible subs

If you know someone local to PA then 500 takes the box and subs
The subs have a light summer's use, car hasn't been driven in 2 years (I know the date my Daughter turned 2 last Sat) and the center sub is chromed so it can be flipped and sit magnet out.... the subs are all 8ohm's with a final drive of 2.6666 and are from the last year of round Solobarics

Setup looks clean, Wouldn't you rather have the bass inside the cab though. I've gotta a comp VR in the trunk, but I want more bass for me to enjoy, not those stopped behind me! LOL

Dynamat + trunk porting ftw.

Thinking about doing 3 or 4 8's in cab though, but I can't decide whether it would sound good or not.

I tried a few different setups, before going for the 10" trio.... I was never happy with subs in the trunk, just too much wasted energy. Not bad with the roof on and windows up, but I wanted something that rocked with the top off. The Steathbox did decent, but I just wanted more. at the sacrifice of the storage boxes, if anyone is serious about their Bass I think you gotta go in the cabin

no offense a_s_ol_ , not saying your not serious or that yours doesn't sound good, but imo it's best in cab.... at the same point I'd say go for it 4 8's would have a great tightness to em, but at that point you could go for a ten inch trio

Well for one, I'm a tall ******, and for two..... I don't really have a two. I just need full reclinability (pretty sure that's not a word).

Looked at one of the 8's yesterday, and I think that while I could physically fit 4 of them behind the seat, I just don't think I could get them enough airspace. 3 8's will be substantially more surface area than my current 12 anyway (150sq" vs. 113sq") so it will be louder ( with more power than the current setup), but I'm concerned it won't play deep enough for some of my music.

Oh well, may as well try it since the subs are cheap

edit* and as far as my current setup, it's pretty loud yet still clean. I can set off car alarms when I want to (only with the windows down - damn dynamat lol) and have the sub be as musical as I want to.

They will only be louder if their excursion capabilities are the same or greater than that of the 12.

It's all in box design, I'm a big and tall shopper... touch over 6' and a few lbs over 250.... I lost no seat travel, I am however comparing to stealthbox travel, if you lose any recline..... when the cargo boxes are out you've got fairly decent room to fiberglass.... you shouldn't have an airspace issue...
