Just got a new deck, JVC with an AUX input so could play my ipod on it, well had it for a few days no problems, then today started going intermtittent on and off, then just shut off completely.
So took it out, put the old Kenwood deck in, and its as if power is going to it, but won't show up the display, the reason I know this is that it ejected a CD which I left in.
The same thing happens with the JVC unit. As if it won't stay on. It is the same in all ignition positions.
Any ideas, BTW, there is no cutting and splicing, I just buy the 2 wire harnesses that connect together.

Check your fuses. It sounds more like a connection problem to me as if something's loose, but it seems that your "memory wire" is giving power while your main power wire isn't.
The memory wire seems to be what is working. Put a voltmeter on the main power wire...check out the voltage before and after you turn the key to Acc II.
