Default Strange issues with Sony head unit.

Well the unit works fine, plays Cd's etc does what it's suppose to do. The driver side speaker works fine. The passenger side doesn't. I've test continuity from the head units harness to the door speaker location and it shows to be ok... I've hooked the speakers directly up to the main Sony harness, because i just quick disconnect clips in-case i ever need to upgrade. The speaker works fine.. what do you think is going on?

Is the speaker grounding out when it's installed?? If so, that'll cause it not to function...

OK.... so I understand, the passengers speaker does not work and if you meter the speaker leads behind the HU they are OK, but what does that mean, does it mean that it reads a 4 ohm load and when you check for short chassis ground to each lead, [pos.(+) and neg.(-)] there is no continuity, [no short].

And if you connect the door speaker directly to the HUs speaker output, [and I assume you mean the right speaker output] it does work? 94

yeah the speaker fires up when you hook it dirrectly to the head units harness. but if i also check for coninuity from the stock harness to the speaker passanger side they read fine..

i will try to take pictures.

Did you check for continuity to chassis ground, [short] on both speaker leads, if there is no short and you have continuity on the speaker leads, then it must be a connection problem. 94
