stereo wiring help!!!
Hey honda tech guys I'm in need of some help. So I just purchased a 95 civic and the previous owner did a hack job on the wiring for the stereo. I went to pull it out to install a amp and subs when I noticed all the wires were cut super short to the point I have no idea how they plugged the head unit in, not to mention they did not use a harness. So I have gotten all the wiring redone except for the power wire that comes on with the key. Does anyone know where that wire is behind the dash/glove box or what wire can I splice into? Right now I have both power wires wire to the constant supply and manual have to switch it on and off. I was thinking maybe the cigarette lighter power would work but I'm not sure. Any and all help is appreciated.
Run the red wire from your aftermarket stereo harness to the accessory wire under the dash, brown plug.
If you want to install the original harness again, you need to purchase Metra part number 71-1721, and I should be able to provide the wire colors should you want to go that route.
