steering column
thinking about making a new steering column cover at school for my 92 cx...... any suggestions on materials (strongest) thinking mild stainless steel... or fiber glass...

If you can work with fiberglass, you can also work with carbon. ... which would end up costing about as much as stainless & be easier to work with. Questions 1. Why does it need to be strong? 2. What's wrong with the original plastic.
have you realized what the column cover is held in by . 4 screws... alsmost positive if not 5.. you can rip that thing off with ease... 10 sec later.. your ride is gone.....
ummm....... so wouldn't there still just be 4 or 5 screws to remove. The wires that would be used to hotwire are just as easily (if not easier) accessable from under the dash.
