Speaker problems
Hey guys,
I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX (the two door model, I think that's what the LX means) and a couple days ago my rear speakers blew out and my front door speakers haven't been working for a long time. I went to best buy and bought a new pair of speakers 6.5 size for the doors and 6x9 for the rear. The kind I bought though were JVC DRVN speakers. The guy at best buy told me they would work for my car, unfortunately they did not. I think that I am going to return them and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for speakers that are good, not that expensive and will fit without any extensive work on my part. The JVC DRVN speakers require me to cut and strip wires, solder, etc. I am also considering just bringing them to a place to get them installed because today was about 3 hours of work for no result.

There are a few different models of Civic two door coupe out there. See here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-2001-2005-78/info-7th-gen-civic-chassis-specs-features-2244923/
As for your speaker issue; there are absolutely zero speaker manufacturers out there that provide the proprietary plug that is in your car to make your new speakers a 100% plug-in and play affair. You'll need an adapter plug, to adapt your car's wiring harness to the standardized two-blade electrical setup speakers have. Best Buy should have provided those for you for a small fee.
Here's an example of those harness adapters: http://www.carid.com/2001-honda-civi...s-4733382.html
