Default SPEAKER PROBLEM

ok i was driving and my speakers a tweeters shut off and my sub still works... then later i turned on my car and it worked again and now i turn on the car and it doesnt work........anyone know whats going on and how i could fix it ...thx

are these run off the headunit?
if so, sounds to me like your headunit's amp is overheating. could be a short.
possibly time for a new unit (or factory warranty if its still good)

it sounds like one of your speakers maybe grounding out.. touchin ground in either door panels .. look at all ur speaker connectors make sure its not rubbing it hittin on the chassis where u mounted it.. that would cause the sound to mute if one or more speaker is grounding out...

i second the grounding out speaker wire, could be a bad speaker.
