sony deck problem?

sony deck problem?
i've got one of those double faced sony decks and it has a bus in. i hooked up
some rcas from the deck to my discman and nothing happend. I looked in the menus and there was no kind of toggeler and pushing source did nothing. What could it be? Is it maybe because its the lower end of the line? Why would they put the rca jacks on the back of the deck if it is not available? helllp. I want to use my discman because the bass is making the cds skip.

2 things..are you sure they're RCA inputs and not Pre-outs??
and if your bass is making your cd player skip why not look into getting a better HU rather than running off of a discman.
