hey i just got a new cd player alpine 9886 and when i turn if up a little past half way it cuts off and then back on. And does this everytime i turn it past halfway, my old cd deck did this too, but i thought it was just the old cd player. DOES any body know how to fix this??

 

You have a speaker or speaker lead shorting out, [most common problem] to test use the HUs fader control and fade all the way to the front or back and try the HU again, if it now only cuts out when it is faded to the front, the short is in the front, now use the HUs balance control and balance all the way to the left or right and try again.

The other possibility is a current issue, [power] the HU is not getting proper current because of a connection problem, either on the 12V+ acc., [red] 12V+ constant, [yellow] or the ground, [black], but as I said the most common problem when a HU works at lower volumes but cuts out at higher levels is a short on one of the speaker output leads. 94

 

so if it is one the door speaker wires do i just re wire the entire thing

 

Check the connections at the speakers first and make sure that they are secure and not making contact with metal. After you do that check you connections at the radio as well.
