Default Simple set up?

I'm looking to have a very simple audio set-up for my teg and need some advise. I'm not interested in a sub or an aftermarket head unit. I just want better and noticably deeper tones. What am I looking at for a good upgrade?

-What amp?
-What speakers (Higher tones in front, Some bass coming from the back)?

Any advise is apreciated.

It depends on what factory H/U you have in youe car. The biggest difference (sp) you can make is to up-grade the speakers.(speakers make the biggest difference.(I like alpine and rockford myself but their are many others) Get good speakers now and you can always add an amp in the future. Goodluck

You'll be suprised if you get an aftermarket head unit. That's probably your best bang for the buck. I couldn't go back to my stock deck in my R if somebody payed me.

I would like to go to an aftermarket HU but I want the interior to all match up (don't know of any HU that will match the interior. Also, I want to keep costs down...

Boston Acoustic Co-ax's in teh back (great lows) and Diamond Audio M5 or Hex 6" components in the front (just flat out great... won the last spl national comp). Amp the Diamond Audio's with a good 100wx2 @ 4 ohm amp and you will have a bang up set up. Amp is optional, not really necessary but they will bring those Diamond Audio's to life.

speakers will make a big difference over the stock low quality/paper woofers...Infinity Kappa, MB Quart, Boston Acoustics, Focals, as well as what Texteg suggested are all good choices... but i'd suggest also getting a new head unit.. you might wanna look into Nakamichi units.. their not all that flashy and look relatively stock...
