Setup Question
I picked up 2 used alpine type s subs 12" for $220 with a box (canadain funds)
now my amp puts out 600 watts full power but it only puts about 150RMS*2 (kenwood amp)
will this be enough to power the subs or do i need a new amp???
thanks

whats your RMS for your TYPE S subs..? 150x2 seems reasonable..but maybe from the 200+ range would be better..but it all depends on how much RMS your speakers can take...
the 150RMS*2 is at 2 ohms though, isn't it? Which means really you'll be giving them something like 80 rms. My suggestion is get a nice little mono amp (1 channel).. these are designed to run 2 ohms at full capacity, where as a 2 channel in most cases will run at full power bridged at 4 ohms, or with each channel running at 2 ohms
