I replaced the stock components, but only the driver. I kept the stock tweeter and added a hardware crossover. wasn't too expensive, and sounds great to me. and im **** about my sound quality

apparently not if thats how you went about it. you want good SQ? replace everything and install it properly. Make sure you properly treat your car too with sound deadening.
