On my old Civic, I got alarm, battery backup, club, and autolock all at the same time. Long story short. Someone finally beat all the alarm features, and only took the HU. Not sure if they wanted the car too. But, the club and autolock probably saved me. It was just too much work for them.

Whatever system you get, add the club and autolock. It's an extra 30 sec of your time.

P.S. I was so mad when that happend I actually wanted to make this device.

Get a piece of wood 1/4 inch thick. Punch a punch of 1" nails through. Leave it in your driver seat. And cover over it with a towel.

Bad guy open the the door, he will most likely jump in quickly sit down, closed the door. And work on the alarm.

He will hit the seat with such force and quickness.

Guess what happens when he sits down???????

At that time, who gives a f@@@@@@ for the bad guys. Wires hanging out. Car won't start, etc. I wanted revenge.

Then later I never made such a device because I could hurt someone very seriously.

Good way to lose your car, your house, and all of your other posessions when that theif sues you and wins... It's happened before... Stories about burglars cutting themselves on knives left out when they've broken into homes and the courts have sided with them... Strange ****, and definitely not worth it...

Not worth getting blood/**** all over your upholstery, either...

Can we see some case numbers or article citations? Otherwise it's just another urban myth.

Dumb idea but I can see the anger it springs from.

My layers:

Garaged, stealth alarm install, battery backup module, normally open start kill relay NOT on the starter wire, kill switch on the main relay, backup kill switch that I don't normally use or show to people that borrow my car, slim jim proofed doors, motion and glass breakage sensors, two way paging w/code hopping, 2 sirens one is buried in the interior, removed hood cable release, hood lock, removable face plate, stealth/barebones audio equipment, sleeper mods (except rims and 1.75 inch drop). No exhaust tip. I black primered my aftermarket suspension. Not a big fan of club-like devices, but to each their own.

That's one of my cars. My other cars are similar. I'll be getting gps for one of them.

Talk about layers, suspended! How did you slim jim proof your doors?

As far as booby trapping your car, I love the idea and have thought about it myself, but in my state it's illegal (manslaughter) to lethally booby trap your property. I know Florida recently passed a law that exempts property owners from civil suits if they were within their rights using deadly force. I don't know how this would coorelate with a booby trap since you are not actually using the force yourself but each state is different.

It sounds like a lot but it really isn't. My car isn't very nice looking either.

To slim jim a door they slide a little hook down there and pull on the door rods. So basically put a pipe over the rods and secured it, then cut the **** out of the little loop that connects the key cylinder to the door lock. So now if you want in and you don't have the alarm remote, you have to A) smash the window, or B) pick the lock on the hatch and crawl your *** all the way up to the front. I hope they choose B, so I can shove a grappling hook up their *** and tug them out.

One day my girlfriend's dad locked his keys in the car with it still running, so we had to drive out there so my g/f could use her AAA card. After the guy unlocked his car, I offered him $20 if he could slim jim my Civic. He said imports are easy, but then couldn't do it. I gave it to him anyway.
