Remote Start on M/T
Ok guys, I am having an Autopage RS850 alarm installed this weekend by a local guy. I want to wire up some sort of neutral safety switch so that way it will detect when the car is in neutral or not. Has ANYONE done this, or does anyone have any ideas? I don't wanna wire the remote start up without this... way too much risk without one, but I'd really like the remote start. Thanks!

-Mario</TD></TR></TABLE> The easy way would have been to have gotten a remote start for M/T, that said, I have done this in the old days, pick up a SPST N/C micro switch with long arm and roller, [ used for synchronizing machine guns and props I was told] find a spot on the shifter or shifter rods that is in one spot only in neutral, make bracket to hold switch in place so roller on end of arm is in contact with "neutral spot" holding switch in, [open] you may have to put a "bump" where the roller hits, [for a high spot] if you have shift rods, [ inside the car] just build up a spot with some epoxy glue, once you have found a spot that works, connect the common of the switch to the hoodpin wire of the remote start, and the other pole to ground, so when in neutral the switch is held open and if in gear the switch is closed, suppling a ground to the hoodpin input of the remote start, [keeping it from working] using a N/C switch is failsafe if switch moves or falls off it will close
