Either one, both are inexpensive and dependable, stick with one way units, if anything goes wrong it is almost always with the two-way remotes. 94

Are you planning on installing it yourself, or will you be taking it to a shop?

So you post for advice, and wrx-killer contacts you to offer you to buy an alarm from him. Do I have that right?

Yea, dude has some kind of thing or whatever. Funny thing is that I did not try to sell you anything. Hell I sent you a link to a cheap unit for you to purchase. I guess reading owns him. Mike I just sent you a pm if you need a tech sheet from dei to help you out.

I recommend using a data module for this vehicle to avoid all the resistor work. Makes your job a lot easier.

On the same topic - I'm thinking about getting a remote starter for my GF's '04 Civic. Is it a bad idea to purchase one from Best Buy and have them install it?

One thing I'm concerned about is that she has a factory alarm and I'm wondering if that will cause any problems with a remote starter. Ideally I'd like to be able to have the alarm armed, remote start the car, and then disable the alarm when she's ready to roll.

I will have to check if the bypass modules we use has the alarm arm/disarm in it, otherwise it works only with the OEM remote.

I will let you know after work. 94

Fortin does not have a module that will deal with the alarm... http://ifar.ca/en/vehicles/honda/civic/2004/ they will only bypass the immobilizer... http://64.85.6.121/diagrams/printpag...18684&MakeID=3

I will have to check the new modules that are coming out.

Or you could just install an alarm/remote start combo unit and ditch the stock alarm, it's not much good anyway. 94
