Recommendations on subs and amps????
Please critique my planned SQ setup (70%SQ/30%SPF) in a Civic Hatch.
I aready have a pioneer CD HU, Blaupunkt 6/1/2 componets in front and 6 1/2 in rear.
I am planning to complete my system with the following:
* subs - 1 12" IDQ DVC 4 ohm (will wire for 2ohm load) $140
* sub box .85cf Qlogic truck box $ 70
* amp- sub USX 600D (300rms @2ohm) $200;
* amp - front components USX2050 (50x2rms @4ohm) $100;
rear (fill) speaker will be run off HU -
planned total cost of $510
Questions:
1. For a SQ setup in my hatch, would a single 10" IDQ be a better setup?
2. What do you think of the amps I am planning to get?
3. Is there a 4 channel amp that would do just work just as good as the amps above?
4. For the same budget of around $510 (or less), what subs and amps would you buy for a SQ setup?

Thats a really good setup, but you could also go with an Infinity perfect 12" which is about 160 on Ebay, and then with the rest of the money buy a four channel amp which will run you for about 300. Maybe a RF 800.4 Bridge 2 channels to the sub which will give you 400 watts and the sub is 350 RMs. and the other 2 channels to the front speakers whcih will give them 100 watts rms each. Front stage will sound louder and clearer this way and your low notes will be handled nicely by that infinity.
Just my .2 Cents.
PS What you had planned was a great setup too, I just gave another option. Good luck and tel me how it goes.

same thing im going for
pioneer hu
infinity ref comps in front
ref coax in back off deck power
subs i was looking at either jl 12W3 or infinity perfect both in dual 4 but ill have to check out the idq now too
for amp check out the autotek sx4160 (i think thats the model #)
gives you a solid 75-100 watts for a comp set along with i think 380 at 2 ohm for a sub

i have the 12" IDQ wired at 2 ohms...with a Rockford fosgate bd500.1 amp in my integra...this setup cost me $550 with the a sealed box about 1.3 cu ft or somethin' like that... the sub is gettin' 600 watts and you know that RF under rate their amps....the sub hits hard and clean, all my friends have 12" JL w3's and they like the sound of my IDQ better...if you could get a better amp with more power it would be better but the IDQ is a good choice...
