hey i know this sounds pretty dumb, but i can't figure out how to change the rear speakers in my friends 99 civic. he just got new infinity's and we can't figure out how to get the stock one's out. any help would be appreciated...thanks.

be more specific. what cant you do? cant get to screws? cant get rear deck off? need more info.

 

well i put down the seat, sat in the trunk, saw the white plastic things that the screws for the speakers screw into but i can't figure out how to get to the screws from the top. do the grilles just pop out?? they didn't seem to want to pop out. it seems like the whole grey plastic cover behind the rear seat needs to be removed. also, there is a keyhole between the two speakers, would it help to unlock that?...thanks again.

i think you gotta take the whole thing off(rear deck). i see alot of people come in to my job where they thought the speaker grilles would just pop off. and theyre left with broke *** grilles. whatever you do be carefull. look for white or grey clips that look like they hold the rear deck down ... thats usually a dead giveaway if you gotta take the deck off or not.

 

yeah i remember seeing white clips from underneath. i'll try to push in on them, thats probly what holds the whole thing down. thanks.
