Default radio problem need help

ok i had a pioneer premier radio real nice n e ways got rid of it and i decieded to connect the factory radio to my amps. now i've just been having problems ok when i first put the factory radio to the amps it was working fine for like a half hour and then both amps went to protect. now the crazy thing is if leave the amp for the subs connect and disconnect the power wire from the highs it works fine and then if you do the opposite the same thing happens. wtf why can't both amps work together?
