Default radio power problem...

i jsut got a new radio...did the wiring without the harness...evwerything seemed to be wired up right and no p ower...checked the cig lighter and that didn't work...i went to check the fuse and tehre was none...i then put in a fuse and it still didn't work....any ideas? its driving me nuts

there is also a second fuse related tot he radio it's the back up fuse and it's located under the hood int eh fuse panel, if that dosen't fix things get your self a test light and see what things are doing and what they arn't

i found the problem..i had the fuse in the wrong location kept blowin a 10 fuse instead of running the 15...but now only 1 speaker works :x

Thats why you should spend the 17 bucks on an adapter harness. There are even some places online that have them much cheaper.

The unit is miswired,pull unit and rewire. Check all wires first 12v+conn. 12v+acc. 12v-ground and 4 pr. sp.wires [8] power ant triggerwire[if you have one] light lead [if you need one]. hope this helps 94

hardwiring into the stock harness is not a good idea, i hope you didnt cut the factory harness completely off, if you havent, i'd advise getting a harness for 16 bucks
