i was doing a tune up on a friends 03 civic today. the maint. light didn't want to turn off after the oil, plugs, etc... were changed. so i disconnected the battery and reset the ecu.

then i was required to enter the code for the radio, but i didn't have it. i called my friend up and he said they never gave it to him when he bought the car. he bought the car used.

can he just take it to the dealership and get the code? does he have to take out the radio cause that radio looks like it would be a bitch to take out.

well pull out your radio, bring registration/vin/insurance, or whateverto show proof of ownership of the car that the radio is from..
