what is a good radar detector? not trying to spend 200 one anyone got a good one?

 

well. how effective do you want the radar detector? If you get one anything under 2-300...you might not be looking at the most effective and accurate detector out there to do the job for you..which is for you to avoid the cops and teh whole point of getting one...so I'd save up for a Valentine One which retails for 399. There are a couple others that do the job very well..i'll let the others recommend them for ya.

 

Escort 8500x50 is $289-329... better range and sensitivity than the v1

 

do a research before you buy. V1 is pretty good in my opinion. Some have done tests with both systems so do a search on this site

I agree with all the decisions also. I have a Whistler and for the first year it has been great but now it sucks ***. My next radar will be a Escort though. Good luck on your purchase and decision. :Quick Thread Jack: Where are the best places to get an Escort for reasonable prices.

 

umm... if ur worried about gettin a ticket for goin fast u should be even more worried about gettin into an accident ... gettin caught wit that in ur car... even though it is legal is some states it is "frowned" upon like y do u need 1 if ur not goin to speed... and most likely if a cop wants 2 pull u over u can get u for about any thing exhaust... basically any aftermarket part...

just drive safer it will save u more on tix and accidents then any radar dector
