Default radar detector

has anyone put in a radar detecter where its not noticable cause down here in VA its illigal ? any mods or something done?

how'd you find out if its illegal or not? anyone know if theyre illegal in WA?


i would assume the higher end expensive ones wouldnt need to be above the dash but maybe that's just how the technology works, not sure.

no theyre only illegal in va for the states and i think canada is illegal 2. i think all of them need to be above the dash

A radar detector will only work if it's sensors can see the radar/laser gun. The only one you can really use that will work well in your state is one that is designed with seperate sensors that go in the front/rear of the car. These are usually quite expensive though, look to pay in the $700+ after the install. The K40-2000 system is extremely nice and works awesome, but it is a bit pricey at $1000.

if i went cheap like to a pawn shop do u think it'd be as good....or should i just go to a local car store and pay alot?
