Default Quick help with a cd player install

I know there is a thread about questions installing and all.

Ive been reading it so i could kinda try to install a cd player on my own, to learn....well im stuck.

I had an old jvc cd player laying around and bought a wiring harness to install it. I had a friend who has way more knowledge than me install it to the cd player..

I unscrewed all what was needed to install the jvc. I havent had a cd player in my car for about 2 months now, the stock one just keeps on giving me error messages, even after disconnecting the battery and all.

Well before i pulled out the stock one i figured id plug it up to see if it all checked out o.k. I pulled the blue plug from the stock one, and plugged it into the jvc, and there was a black plug that was also in the back of the stock cd player, which i also plugged into the jvc..

That was all that was plugged into the back of the stock cd player, so i figured everything should check out ok, well when i turned on the car, the jvc did nothing. i plugged what was in the stock one into the jvc so i thought it would all be ok..

Can anyone help me out? Is there something small I am missing, or something that i need? I really cant stand the radio, and best buy wants like $65 to install, i have my car apart right now, and id hate to back out now...

Thanks in advance for the help.

P.S. I had a guy at circuit city check the wiring harness to the jvc and he said it looked good, so i cant think of anything really, im still learning..

IF the oem HU still works, then the JVC is N/G, or your buddy should not quite his day job. 94
