Default headunit amp

i have an aiwa headunit and it says it pushes 45 watts x 4 channels... i also have an amp thats only 2 way that i use for my alpine sub. but my amp is dieing...
im going to get 4 new speakers because they are all popped.
i intend to get speakers that have 50 continuous watt power..and wire it through the headunit..
therefore do i need a 4 way amp? or will a 2 way work fine?

45x4 is peak power, it is less than 20x4 RMS, if you are going to relpace all 4 speakers with ones that will handle 50watts continuous, then a 4x50watt [RMS] amp is a good idea, and replace the sub amp with a 200 to 300 watt [RMS] mono sub amp, If low on $ get the 4ch amp and use 2ch to drive the front speakers on highpass and use the other 2ch [bridged] to drive the sub, use the rear speaker outputs of the HU to drive the rear the speakers, then when you can afford the $ get the sub amp for the sub and rewire the 4ch to the rear speakers. 94
