Questions About Amp Install
I installed the wiring for an amp yesterday and just had a couple of questions about my install.
1. I ran the remote wire and the 12v wire down the same side of the car and the RCA's on the other side. Is this ok or will I notice problems?
2. Where is the best place to attach the ground wire in a 2005 Civic Coupe?
3. Is it absolutley necessary to have a inline fuse if you run 8awg wire? If it is does it have to be within a certain length from the battery?
I havent had the chance to use the amp yet as I am missing a piece to connect the power, ground and remote wires to the actual amp.

I have an old amp that has a power connector plug where the ground power and remote attach to this plug and then plug in to the amp. It sucks because I cannot find that piece. I am going to have to rig something up on my own.
Ya I will buy a new amp if I need to but I'm pretty sure I can make something work.
I wish I had a few lying around. You can send me one of your extras if you dont need them.

As long as your RCAs are not run with any power leads, you will not have a problem with noise being "induced" into the RCAs, this does however not guarantee that you will not have noise there are other factors that come into play.
Yes most definitely install a fuse holder on your 8ga power wire, [or anytime you run a power wire for anything and any gauge] place the fuse-holder as close to batt. as you can, but within 18".
If it is a PPI amp, check for plug here... http://www.directed.com/coms.asp

I have 3 that I'm not using. Not really great stuff. But I like them. "Rockbox" , made by Mobile Authority.
1-4 channel(4x35 I think)
1-2 channel 500 watt
1-1k watt monoblock.
I don't know why I bought them. I have no intention of using them. Only hooked them up to make sure they work. Ran the monoblock for 2 days. At 1/2 power it hit as good as my Rockford 600 watt amp.(which was beat to snot)
