Default question about speaker installation

I took off the cover and speaker from the rear, and there is a harness. I detached it from the speaker and took the speaker out. the new speakers I have don't have that same clip that the oem speakers did. my question is, can I pop off the old clip from the oem speakers? or can I buy them from somewhere else? because I tried popping it off and it's like stuck on there.

Although you haven't told us make & model of the car, you can go to Best Buy or Circuit and buy the speaker harness plugs. The spade connectors will attach to the terminal plate on the speaker, and it's plug & play from there....

Yes. Plug that into the factory connector, and then plug in the speakers.

I'd actually recommend just cutting the factory clips off, save yourself the 4 bucks lol...might get a better connection if you solder the new leads on anyway, only my .02

Or, you could not be ghetto and use the connectors... This will enable you to easily reinstall the stock speakers should you decide to sell/trade the car...
