question about component speaker systems
well i got a 00 si, its already got the mounts for the tweeters in the front i was thinkin of doin new front tweeters, maybe adding 2 to the back also if that'll sound good and new door and rear speakers. i got the extra pre-amp outputs on my radio other than the amp do i need anything else like crossovers or anything, ive never done this before but im skilled enought to do something like this on my own.
2way components for the front, find something that has a tweeter that will fit the stock locations.
Mid bass drivers for the rear, [no tweeters, will only mess up the staging]
And as Skip01 mentioned a 4ch. amp to run them.
You will need a amp power kit, [power and ground wire, fuse and holder and terminals] and you will need 2 sets of RCA interconnect cables, get them separately from the amp kit, as the ones in the kits will be too long.
The component speakers will come with a x-over, and just make sure the amp you get has fully adjustable x-overs built in.

tru, any recomendations on speakers and and amps? i dnt wanna spend a fortune but i dnt want cheap crap either. i had rockfords in my old car and they were good but not components.
i don't have an exact number, but if someone could throw out some numbers. i'd probably do it in steps i wouldn't go out and buy all this at one time.

Very open ended question. There are decent entry level 2-way component sets starting around $120. Something middle of the road will be ~$300 and up, and the pricing just gets rediculous from there.

Whatever we recommend will be something that suits our tastes. Why don't you go out and audition some equipment and let us know what you liked. Once you do that, I'm sure that we can come up with some recommendations.
What are some of your local shops and what do they carry? You've got to do some of the work yourself. Like I said before. Just go listen to random ****, and let us know what you like.
well there r a ton of local shops around me, if someone could jus throw out some brands that they find in their opinion to b good i'd then go out and look into it.
