Default question about automatic pw modulators

99 integra coupe, the power window on the left side has been reluctant to go up, takes at least 3 or 4 tries going up, but works fine going down. The alarm is a python.... i have no idea which model, seems like a pretty standard alarm. Has an available alarm option where the windows roll up automatically after you arm it. Is this related to the power window switch itself or is there something wrong with the modulator or whatever it's called? Thanks guys for the help

So you have the alarm wired to the window switch then or no? If that is the case then more then likely, this is a wiring issue. Is the motor really slow when going up?

Read much?

Anyways... On my '98 Civic, I have a similar issue. Although I don't have the window modules installed, the passenger side window takes forever to go up. Down is OK, but it binds & gets stuck going up. I have to pull up on the switch, then push it down for a sec, pull up, push down etc... Pain in the ***.

I pulled the door panel, and cleaned the tracks & realigned the window clips at the bottom. Seems to work for a few months, then gets gummed up again....

Dunno if this is the problem with you, but it's worth a shot to check out....

Are you talking to me? Because I did read it and my question is still not answered. He needs to be more clear. You have a motor track issue, he may not. If the motor is not moving at all and he has to hit the switch a few times to get it to move then it's probably not his motor.

basically, when moving the window back up it goes about halfway, stops on it's own even though i'm still pressing the switch to go up, i stop, resume pushing and it goes up about another inch and stops again while im still holding it down and then when it hits that point that last effort of pressing up on the switch again gets it to go up all the way. It does sound like like b18c ej explaination, i'll try that, should be worth a shot. Is there anything else you guys could let me know about?

RE: white smoke's first post

the motor to the driver side window rolls fine going both up and down, just gets stuck halfway. Also, the windows are wired up so that when the alarm is armed, the windows will automatically roll back up on it's own. I've heard that the modulators tend to go bad or are problematic and i wanted some more input as to whether the modulator went bad or it can be pointed elsewhere.

Can you still hear the motor when the glass stops moving but the switch is still held down? IS THE MOTOR SLOW?

What window module do you have?
Some window modules have "adjustable resistance stop", yours may need to be reset. 94

You should pull off your door panel and just have a look over all your wiring connections for the driver side door.
