sup guys...just got an alarm installed on the crx the python 460hp....my friend did the install for me and he gave me a good deal so i got it. the question is to who might have one of these...how do you adjust the sensitivity of it? my friend is away on vacation so i can't ask him...i see a little **** on the brain and remember my friend saying to turn it and it gets more sensitive? anyone know this?
also my friend didn't install a proximity sensor but i would like to add one....i kno som alarms u just plug in but i believe this one u can't...so i might have to tap into the some of the lines to the brain....not sure but if anyone knows how to wire up a proximity sensor to this unit ...help would be great

I dont exactly recall wich alram that is but if the shock sensor is built in to the brain then there will be and adjustment sticking out of the brain, if the shock sensor is a seperate piece the there will be a small yellow adjustment on the clear plasic shock sensor. The proximity sensor will have to tie in to the wires on your shock sensor, or you can disconnect the shock sensor and just plug in the proximity sensor to the brain.

Owners guide http://www.directed.com/guides...5.pdf I can't get the install guide till tomorrow, I have to do it at work, but the alarm has an input for an extra sensor.
Did your friend not give you the install guide?

ok after checking it out...the brain does have a port to plug a prox sensor in.....i don't have the sensor in hand but i' not sure how the wiring goes. it has 3 wires? one for power, ground, and one to the port? how would i go about wiring it into the crx?

Oh wait... I'm thinking of the shock sensor...
When I hooked up my prox sensor, I tied it into my trunk input I think... No, wait... Isn't there a "multiplex" input?? I think I used that one... Was 2 years ago. I forget.

the dei prox sensor is a two stage unit, pre warn and full alarm. so dont forget to take that into consideration. also if you tapd it into the shock sensor (which i think it was already determined that it has an onboard shock so what i am about to say is pointless) make sure you diode isolate it. i have had several problems with adding them in addition to a shock if i tap into all 4 wires on the shock.
my directechs password is not working so i cant post up the install guide

ok the 508d came already. seems pretty simple...just plug into the brain and into the sensor itself. as far as adjusting it..anyone have any recommendations on how to do it? not sure..do i just plug it in....mount it in car...and then set it off and see from there?

thanks guys just got it installed...
as for u guys with the prox sensor...how sensitive did u gusy set it? my car has been broken into twice already in the last two months...its been only two months since i had it. right now i have it mounted near the shifter area....if u stand next to the car..the car chirps...if hand is inside window the alarm will go off....do u guys think its the right set up? a neighbor of mine had a integra, and his thing was so sensitive that the alalrm went off during the ngiht and his neighbors got so mad that they were about to tow it away. so i don't want it that bad......

one thing i can say is I have noticed when you adjust the prox sensor out of doors it generally is more accurate. It seems when ever i adjust one in the shop then take it out side the sensitivity is not the same as it was indoors.

TRUE TRUE. I noticed that too.

u guys mean outside on the street? mine was adjusted in the garage and it seemed good as i went to school and stuff in the parking lot...my friend said the thing started chirping like crazy as he was just standing next to my car trying to get into his car on passenger side ahaha...
Fluorescent lights will "compress" the zones, and don't forget the sensor is looking for mass moving towards or away from it, so any mass around it will have an effect on the field.
