No reason not to install an alarm, not many car thieves have tow trucks.

Also a tow truck will not prevent an alarm from going off. 94

An alarm is just an extra layer of security, if someone is trying to steal your wheels and they trip the shock sensor, wouldnt you want your pager to beep letting you know that someone is messing with your car so you can look outside?... as well as alerting people around that something mischevious is going on. A thief will not stick around if he cant get the alarm to go off (they are really loud)... and then if the thief disables the siren from making noise, make sure you have a fuel cut somewhere so it will be near impossible to start the car if the thief hotwires it.....

Fine dont take me and fcm's advise, use your steering wheel club and wheel locks that take wayy to much time and effort to install everytime you leave your car unattended, but dont expect your car to be there when you get back...

Friends always mislead friends and set them up for failure. The only person I feel sorry for is your friends car. A well install alarm system and gps will make the condition of your car being stolen almost 100% gps will make sure it comes home if towed if its installed right.

Hell I can't even beat my own alarm system once its installed without being busted.

Whatever you do to your car to protect it, someone will figure out a way around so they can steal it. It's completely hopeless. Even with fuel cut-offs and such, they can still easily tow it away. Even if you block the car in with other cars to prevent towing, they can still pick it up with a helicopter.

This is why I recommend simply leaving your doors unlocked, windows rolled down, and keys in the driver's seat every time you park. Why make the thieves' job any harder than it has to be?

In my opinion an aftermarket alarm system would be somewhat beneficial if you have a 2-way pager to go along with it. That way you would at least know if someone were messing with your car. Even if it were a false alarm....better to be safe than sorry.

Having an alarm is a deterent, not a guarantee your car will not be stolen. Useless....that's up to you.
