Default Problems with speedometer

Figured this is an electrical problem so I posted here.

Basically my speedometer on my 98 integra will intermittently cut out working and die randomly. When I first turn the car on, just sitting still at idle the needle will jump a little. Once its warmed up the car is ok until I do pulls where it will cut out at certain speeds and kick back on. I've tryed 2 different known working speed sensors with the same results. Im figuring the plug is loose or something and is loosing connection or shorting. So that's the next step.

But that's all I got =/. Is there any shared common grounds or power wires else where that could be causing this? Like the cruise control?

Pull the cluster and make sure cluster plug(s) ar plugged in properly, I would also check dash harness grounds. 94

I doubt its the speedometer seeing as when my data logging is hooked up the ECU is seeing the same signal as the dash.

Your grounds for your speedometer and the whole gauge cluster are directly above your hood release, in the back corner between the firewall and drivers side, it is a 10 mm boot and holds a white connector that has about 7 grounds on it. Is it only the speed you are having issues with or is the whole cluster flickering? What motor setup do you have is it a swap? Who did the wiring for your ecu? And what ecu are you running the more you give me the more i can help

I did not say it was the speedo, I suggested it may be the plugs to the back of the cluster. 94

I'll look into it.

Its an integra with a built LS motor, so the harness hasn't really be touched. Speedo is only issue. The wiring for the ecu is a boomslang harness on ectune. I doubt its the ecu since it was in another car running fine prior for years.

I'll notice when doing pulls on tuning the sensor will start reading suddenly around 60-80 mph and fall back off near 100mph. Happens consistently.

So I took the connector off and cleaned it and then put a bunch of dielectric grease on it. The speedometer seems to be working well now until I get to about 100mph or so and the signal drops intermintently. This happens consistently. This is super weird lol.

Im thinking the connector is still somewhat loose and some vibration or harmonic is causing it to lose it at that speed.
