Default Problems with adjusting DEI 508D Motion sensor

I just got my motion sensor from amazon today but I'm having problems adjusting it on my hatch.

When I first plugged it in with stock settings, stepping within two feet of the side windows would set off the full alarm so I turned the inner sensitivity all the way down. I read the little manual and it says adjust the outer one first because it expands and contracts both circles. So I adjusted it perfectly, doesn't go off when I just walk by but if I put my head closer and try to look in, it does the warning chirps.

The problems is now I cant get the full alarm to go off. I even opened the window and stuck my hand it and waved it around and put my hand within inches. The inner circle alarm is set ALL the way UP. And the outer is set about 1/4 so it won't give off chirps is someone just walks by.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I'm putting it under the ebrake in the middle of the car with the tabs facing forward and back just like the manual says. My windows aren't tinted at all. And this is the only sensor I have plugged in so nothing can be interfering.

Any suggestions?

I'm gonna try and reset it back to stock and start over then let you guys know.

Default Re: Problems with adjusting DEI 508D Motion sensor

Found my own answers in two different threads. Here's what helped me just in case someone is searching this in the future:

1. When you arm it, it takes about 20-30 seconds for the circle to expand. So arm it then wait a little before testing.

2. After you set if off few times, get in the car and turn the ignition on and off. This resets everything because after being tripped too many times, the sensitivity gets lowered on it's own to prevent nuisance or something. The ignition resets the sensitivity to where you set it.

Now it chirps if I come closer than a foot to the side windows and If I press my face against the glass or open the door(door trigger was disconnected for this test) the full alarm will go off. I might have to dial it down just a bit more but I'll see how it reacts tonight at work.
