Problem with my compustar SS alram
Well I don't know how many of you have a compustar ss but heres my problem: in order for the compustar alarm to utilize the auto-start function you have turn off the car in a special way and when you close the door your pager charms if you did it right. Well for some reason if I were to auto start my car within the next 3-4 hours it would start ok, but if I left it over night and tried to start it it won't start for ****. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Let me guess, your car is a manual, which is why you have to stop your car a certain way. Then about the car not starting worth **** in after 4 hours... You probably have the heat cranked as well as the fan, radio on. Which won't allow the car to start. But you can go into your car normally and start the car with the key. This happens all the time with my car as well as my friends cars that have manual starters in them.
I think it has something to do with the amount of drain on the battery when the vehicle is attempting to turn over. Could be wrong but that is my guess. Try having the heat cranked with the radio off and the fan set just below half and see if it starts okay. If it doesn't their might something draining the battery slowly.

Hmm very good point, imma start turning off my radio and turning off the fan before I leave the car to test this out.

Unless the Compustar is miswired, what you have on , [radio, heater,so on ] will have no effect on how the Compustar starts the the car, as you will notice, when you crank the starter the acc. turn off, and if the remote start is wired properly it should do the same thing, you can test this by sitting in the car and remotly starting the car, it should work the same as when you use the key, turn key on, [2nd position] anything that was on will come on, [radio, blower, wipers, and so on] but when you go to start, all that turns off untill you release key from the start position. The remote start should work the same way, if not , its miswired.
I can only think of 3 things that would keep it from starting, 1- a door has been opened, or the Compustar "thinks" a door has been opend, 2- the e-brake was released, or the Compustar " thinks" it was, 3- there is something wrong with the Compustar.
The reason I asked what kind of car it was in was, some newer cars, [Fords mainly] the BCM will send a pulse to the door triggers, [ every 15min in Fords] to check the door status, [ to turn off dome light I think] to see if a door has been left open. If a relay is not installed this will trip an alarm and turn off ready mode of a remote start.
The other thing I would check for, [ although should have no effect] is the Compustar in timer mode.
It comes down to I think there is a problem with the Compustar, and as the have an over the counter exchange warranty, go back to where you got it and have it replaced.
