Default problem with keyless entry: really short range

I have an older DEI Viper in my ITR, the keyless entry blows because I have to be really close to the car for it to work, like standing less than a foot from the car. I've replaced the battery in the key fob, didnt do anything. any other ideas?

make sure you have a really good ground.. that should increase your range.

DEI makes a range extender, you may have picked up one of the cheaper DEI's that came with shitty range, i have a DEI in my car and i have AMAZING range, so you can either buy a range extender, or try and move your antenna (if you have one which you should) to a different spot on your windshield
