Default Possible to wire a shift light seperate from tachometer?

Guys,

Wondering if you would be able to help me wire this shift light up that I have lying around. Thing is, this shift light is one that comes with the 5" Autometer "monster-tach" (meaning that it is not programable by itself, only through the actual controls on the tach). The shift light has two wires coming from it that lead into a plug that plugs into the tach.

Is there a way that I could cut the plug off and connect the two wires in a fashion that it would blink near my rev-limiter? Or do I need to ditch it and buy a programable shift light? Let me know if you have any ideas. It would be nice if I could get it figured out as I am racing the car this weekend.

Thanks

Anything is possible, a circuit could be built to drive the light, but in this case it is probably better to get the "controller", you may be able to buy just the controller so you can use the light you have. 94
