Well.. I couldnt tell you how much it is, but I know its not to expensive... From my understanding... yes, it will take up the whole sealed box as long as you pull it apart and make it fluffy... It will push back when you put the sub in...

i always thought crossovers before the speaker 'enhanced' the bass, made it sound more refined
those are called 'in-line' crossovers right?
A crossover is used to seperate certain frequencies from different drives. You don't want your subs trying to play what a tweeter was designed to play, and vice versa. They have nothing to do with bass.

A bass blocker is just a wire with a Cap and a resistor on it to basically mute lower frequencies. If you're running bass blockers to a sub thats kinda purpose defeating.

Speaking of bass blockers, and maybe this should be in nother thread now, but does anyone know the formula for the cap/resistor combo to block a given freuency and below?

I dont get it... why would anyone do that and who gave you that idea? I really dont even see how you could run bassblockers to a sub... I guess tie it in the speaker wiring, but the amp would blow one of them fats as hell... I dunno, maybe I am just crazy thinking anyone would be stupid enough to try to use one on a sub.... Considering that a sub is for BASS... To make up for the other speakers lack of BASS...

Honestly I put bass blockers on all my speakers less than 6.5" ones so I protect them at high volumes... I have never blown a speaker fomr midbass, but low bass tears them to shreads...
ive always wanted to do this...i notice my 5.25 would play (try to ) to omuch bass at high volume...
people do know them as 'bass blockers' right? im just worried ill go in and ask and get alot of funny looks and hilarious laughter after i leave

so...correct me if im wrong but if i installed a crossover right now, wouldnt it affect the bass? i mean, if it makes my sub play bass and my comp's play highs...
you know what im trying to say

So did you just stuff it into your box or did you adhere it to the sides like described above... !
if you have a sealed box, then you shouldn't worry about adhering it to the box. if you have a ported box, then you might want to (if your port is big). i didn't adhere my polyfill to my ported box. since it was stuffed so carefully, its like one big pillow without the casing. pretty impossible for it to escape through my ports

It doesn't effect the sound at all, unless your speakers are distorting. It's kind of difficult to explain, read This
