I just got my 89 civic doing a few things to it to make it look and sound better. I am thinking of getting a DEH-1600 CD receiver to start out with. Does anyone have any experience with this deck? What do you think of it? Also, which 3 way speakers would you suggest in 6 1/2?

Get a better deck. If you plan on getting amps and subs later on that deck will be useless to you. Spend the little bit extra now and keep stock speakers until you can afford to get a good set of componnet speakers. I would move up to the premier line of pioneer products. You get an extra year of warranty with the decks as well they have more pre-outs of adding amps later.

I would try and get a Premier DEH-P660. It has 3 (2V) pre-outs which would be better for you in the long run.
