hey guys,

im upgrading my system soon and i was thinking about getting 6.5" Alpine Type R components and Alpine 6.5" Coaxils for the rear. these will be powered by an Alpine MRV-F340 v12 amp.

can you guys please give me some reviews / opinions on these speakers please. any help is greatly appreciated.

i see. 2 of my friends have them and i thought they sounded pretty good. today i went to a local shop where my friend was the manager and asked him about them and he said not to get them cuz they really aren't that good. he said to get 4 image dynamic coaxil 6.5s but when i heard them, they sound exactly like the alpines.

i really would like my stuff to match since i have all alpine so far (deck, amps, and subs). but right now...my decision is still just up in the air.

anyone else have some reviews?

I have 2 sets of co-axles. I love them I got them on ebay for around $100 a piece. I don't know how much Infinities retail for but I always thought they both sounded equal. The infinities are cheaper on ebay I would go for either. Don't get ID's if you choose to spend hundreds of dollers more than you would for type-rs get focal utopias, but if you are looking for quality and not going broke then the type r's are awesome.

dude, the type-x's are rare cost way way more. They retail around 400 a set, thats crazy, they only have (I think its 30) more watts then the type r's. You'll have to get them special ordered. Just get the r's

well i guess i got a good deal then cause i paid $429 cdn and picked them up a couple days later. they may only have a slightly higher power rating but i think the difference in the speakers and the flexibility of the crossover is well worth teh extra money.
