Looking for a high quality install in Northern VA. I'm tempted to just let circuit shitty do it, but I've heard nothing but bad things about them...

 

might have just been a bad installer, or a bad shop. Maybe try another Circuit in the area if you can't find someone else

What are you having installed? Everything is pretty simple to do on your own.

 

an alarm system. i want a quality install from a reputable shop. my main option is circuit city but people here seem to look fairly negatively upon them.

I used to work for Circuit as well ( now with Tweeter)
In our industry there are good and bad installers everywhere
you just have to look around....
