New Sub / Amp Recommendations
Hey folks I was looking for some advice. I have a 99 Civic Coupe with a 4 channel RF Power series amp (4x110RMS) and a Kenwood (I know I know ...) Mono block running 400w RMS to a Kicker Solobaric 12".
I have no problems with my speaker setup (6x9 Infinitys 6.5" Infinitiy components) apart from the rattles but thats my door panels
My problem is my amp/sub setup. I know the Kicker can handle 500w RMS @ 2Ohms but I am currently feeding it 400 and it sounds weak, I have the gain turned up currectly but I don't know whether it's just me or It really does need more power. I was thinking another RF amp and Capacitor to solve the problem and give it a bit more juice to play with.
My other alternative was to get an RF amp and perhaps a new sub, or perhaps 2x 12" subs of some description, however I do wanna retain some boot space and be able to remove the box (I've built a false floor and kept a space saver in there in case of emergencys)
So folks, any recommendations, anyone running two 12's ? I like it loud, this one shakes the head lining and the rear view mirror but it doesn't appear to be that loud.
Cheers for your time folks.

I don't have any unfortunatly, at the moment imagine one 12" Kicker sub sitting in the middle of the boot at the back with the cone facing towards the licence plate.
That and two amp's in a false enclosure underneath.
That and speakers mounted in there factory locations ...
Hope that helps.

sealed or ported box. a ported box will give you something like 3 db, noticeably louder. My buddy has a W0 in a slot ported box, and i have a w3 dvc 4ohm in a sealed box. I am running the alpine mono 300watt amp at 2 ohms and he is running a bridged channel of the cheap alpine 4 channel, something like 80 or 90 watts rms to the sub. He is louder. He is in a truck also, which helps, but his sub is definently louder. consider the box first, it will definently create a difference, and if your going loud a ported box will help.
Nice, I have a sealed and had a sealed before and it was great but in my current Civic it sounds real weak, I shall give the ported a go. Anyone make any custom enclosures that can be removed, I notice a lack of stealth boxes for the 96+ Coupe's bit disappointing.
Anyone got any pics of custom enclosures that don't take up the whole boot (I.e. that sit far back into the trunk) just curious. Thanks for your views folks, all good to hear.
