Default New head unit?

I am looking into getting a new head unit for my gsr, which plays mp3 songs and has preamps....hoping to spend about 250 - 300. I am not sure what are good units though for that price. I know the Pioneer DEH-P7400 is pretty good and I am also looking into the Panasonic (don't know the model #), but it doesn't play mp3's. Does anyone have any suggestions?

consider the alpine CDA-7893. pioneer has a LONG delay when skipping tracks. i think about 5 seconds just to get to another song. JVC digifine series are good, with about a 3 second delay. the new kenwoods doesn't look good to me (maybe to you it will), but their delay is short. i think abotu 1-2 seconds.

I will second the recommendation of the Alpine 7893. I have that in my car and I am very happy with its performance and sound quality

The new line of the Alpine amps are so nice. V12 Digital Series. Awesome look and sound, just like the typical Alpine product

You can't go wrong with a pioneer or alpine. Just stay away from the low-end models - you get what you pay for.

Kenwood MP919.

Fastest load times out there. Faster than Alpine's. Ease of use is easy too.
