Default New front speakers

Just got new http://www.pioneerelectronics....tab=A speakers and got em all hooked up but only with 1 screw in each speaker. This is because if u look at the link and see the pic there are 3 tabs on the outer rim they fit in that spot one way and i can only get 1 screw in? Should i just leave it with 1 screw or what should i do with the tabs.

I had bought some speakers for my car that were too small so they didn't match up with the holes. All I did was center the speaker in the middle of the hole and drilled new holes that were small enough for the screw to screw into.Whatever you do you should definitely not have one screw holding each speaker because then when your pumping bass the air will escape from the sides of the speaker and it wont sound good.

What car are these going into? You need to have at least 3 screws in the speaker!

99 civic lx, can i just cut off the tabs with a pair of dykes? Is it a required to use the clips that came with the speakers if there are the holes from the existing speakers.

There may be some sort of adapter you can buy or make out of Plexiglas but the best thing to do would be to drill new holes. But like I said whatever you do you definitely should not have the speakers mounted with 1 screw each.

Yes you can cut the tabs off! You will more then likely have to make new mounting hoes anyway. You don't have to drill them, with good screws and some pressure you can get them in there by hand. You may have to cut some of the backing out to fit these speakers as well.

Wow I didn't know 99s had plastic speaker holders.....since my car is a 93 its metal so thats why I said drill holes but if its plastic that guys right, you can just use some 1/2 inch or so wood screws and just press hard and screw and it should go in.If it doesn't work just blow the car up and get some new speakers.Words from the wise .Haha yea right!
