Default New Compustar put in. Time for some questions...

Alright I got my compustar all set and installed. I got this motion sensor installed and its real sensitive. Is there a way to shut it off/on through the remote? Is this motion sensor worth having. Is there anything else that I should add? Thanks!

Sounds like a DEI 508D, [dual stage field disturbance sensor] where is the "small box" mounted? 94

If it's a DEI product its garbage.

Even though clifford is now owned by DEI, there two stage motion sensor is one of the best IMO.

They changed these to a small clear box?

Last I remember DEI's version was clear Cliffords was black.
The 508D is junk IMO.

Your talking about the remotely controlled DSP radar sensor, the 508D is pretty much the same thing without the remote control, the remote controlled unit has been out for a long time, even before the Alpine SEC-8040, even before Clifford had a dual stage impact and/or a warning input on their alarms. [I didn't like them because customers, or their kids, would mess around with the controls, although it was a dependable unit] the 508D can be found here... http://www.clifford.com/matrix/access/default.asp 94

Keep in mind, the 508D should be adjusted outside, definitely not in a shop with fluorescent light. 94

I have installed that 508D on my sisters car and it sucked would always false. This is DEI's version and I dont believe it was manufactured by Clifford.

The version I mentioned was designed before they were bought by DEI. While it would false I found it to be the most reliable. Dont know anything about the Alpine version. The controls were only offered if you bought the stand alone versions. Some version were integrated into the alarm and were adjustable with the remote. If you didn't want kids to adjust the sensor put the controls out of reach under the dash. It didn't need continuous adjustment anyway.
