Need Help with stock HU/alpine-amp setup
Ok, first of all, i am a complete audio noob.
Old setup:
10" infinity sub
Sony XPlod amp
RCA convertors
I just bought a Alpine MRV T707 (http://www.canze.org.nz/reviews/inde...roduct_ID=1145) and swaped it out with my other amp (Sony Xplod). Well, after installation, nothing happens. The power light on the amp doesn't turn on, nothing happens. I checked the fuse, its fine. Is this amp compatible with a stock HU? Even if its not compatible, shouldn't the power light atleast turn on?
HELP ME HT!
I have a 00 SI, btw.
TIA

Just double check yourself, power is hooked up at the battery and at the (new) amp? solid connections?
Your ground wire is nice and tight from the amp to the chasis of the car?
Your remote trigger wire is hooked up?
If the amp doesn't come with all connections good and tight - try to "hot" wire the amp. Take a small peice of wire and attach it from the postive connection of the amp to the remote trigger connection. Does the amp light come on now? IF so, looks like your trigger wire has a break in it from the HU or the HU isn't putting out voltage anymore.

i just tried what you suggested with a paper clip and the weirdest thing happened, the radio turned on without the key in the ignition. The amp light still doesn't turn on, but the radio turned on for some odd reason.
