Nakamichi or Eclipse?
I did the SPL thing a couple of years ago. Now I just want a simple system that sounds HELLA GOOD.
For speakers I have decided on:
Focal Polykevlar 165k 6.5" componets
Focal Polykevlar 27k 11" subwoffer
My questions in, which would be a beter choice for amps and decks? Eclipse of Nakamachi? I like the Nakamachi decks alot because they resemble the stock deck, so it wont stick out like a soar thumb, and I also heard that you cant beat Nakamichis quality. But if its not a better product than Eclipse, I will go with eclipse.

Are the new Eclipse's detachable yet??? That's the one thing I hated about them....
As for your question, pice wise, top of the line Nak (the CD-45) will only run a little over $300 on line. Top of the line Eclipse, is gonna run twice that amount.
From what I've heard, the Nak is hella good for SQ, but aren't that pretty (like you already stated).

their both really good quality brands... the Nakamichi IMO looks a little plain but it does perform/sound very good... the Eclipse decks are excellent also and appeal more aesthetically.. but their also very pricey... both are good choices.. if it were me i'd probably go for Eclipse since I like the aesthetic look of those better and your not really sacrificing quality...
I have the Nakamichi CD-45Z. I like the simple look. Like you said, it doesn't stand out and say "Steal Me". It is so easy to use and works great. I would highly reccomend it. I also had a Nakamichi amp before it got stolen it was the old model of the PA-504. 4 channel. Powered two front speakers in my CRX and briged the last two channel to a JL 10W3, that mother ****** pounded. Go Nakamichi, you won't be disappointed.
I was just over at VWvortex, a guy there says he's got direct info that the current Nakamichi's are not as good as they were, the Eclipse is much better.
