Default My future security system

After finding out what happened to my friend's Integra, and my other friend's Mustang, I've decided to look into security systems. The Mustang owner showed me this one. He will be getting it after he fixes his car.

only think that sucks about those is that they are limited to only 1,000 feet or so..... if you want to get real serious, get a PAGETRAK 2 system....they are retailed for 600 bucks....

the new spread spectrum pagers are coming out soon, boasting 6,000 feet (even if you throw away the advertising and only belive 1/6th the range, 1,000 guarenteed is still great)

I belive autopage is the first to develop these lines of pagers, much better than the current FM ones.

Around here, most shops won't install it unless you buy it from them. Be careful, now i'm stuck with a Viper 550 that I can't use.

Directed owns Clifford, etc. the Viper is actually DEI's own brand, and DEI has in the recent past baught out the others. The 790 is an AWSOME setup! Get the accessories for it and your set. Also, you can do the Cell phone and sat services with these alarms, to the range is pretty much "unlimited" with the right peices

This thing is 850 at my local shop installed. Its sort of a high price but .... I would do it. Because I hate slaping on a fuel switch, an autolock and club. But ill still do all that and the alarm and I already have lojack.

i just got mine a couple of weeks ago, it kicks *** but the pager range is probably about 1,000 feet on a good day with the wind blowing towards you but around your house and stuff its awsome and its loud enough to wake you up if you set it by your bed or whatever

The range is nice to have... though what's the use?

If you're 1/4mi away from your car, in a mall or something, and your alarm goes off. Lets say the theif breaks in, grabs some stuff and within 30 seconds they're gone. If you're a descent runner, you're at your car within 2 minutes. The crooks and possibly your car are long gone The advantage to you being out there quickly is questioning any witnesses.

I kinda wonder how the theft deterrent companies are going to market these new long-range pager systems. Maybe a angry-dog dispenser or pepper spray fog would work much better

Well, odds are if someone is trying to steal your car when your at the mall, people will see the person doing it. Hopefully, they will be nice enough to go over, and scare them away, or something. The alarm is probably loud enough that anyone in the area would hear it.

Where are you guys getting them so cheap? Or since the prices at stores normally include labo, they just chage a lot for labor? I'm looking at a Compustar as well so if you know where you can buy them online or in the VA area, please let me know. Thanks
