Default my components dont work

as stated in the title, my components dont work...when i just got my mbquarts (dsd216 or osmething like that, forgot) it would sound nice, then after a little while, the pitch would drop (does that make sense?)...after about a month or so (now) the components dont work at all...the tweeters still scream, but the components dont work at all...any solution?

Sounds like blown woofers, [mid-range drivers] to me, or passive x-overs or connections,
If tweeters are still working the amp is probably OK, although I would check and make sure amps active x-over is adjusted properly, [if it has one]. 94

The x-over got hot,[real hot] most commonly caused by an amp driven into clipping, [over-driven] continuously.

To do a proper check of the speakers you will need a multimeter, you can do a simple test, connect the HU directly the the speaker, [mid-range] bypass the x-over, before you hook up the HU to the speakers use a batt., [AAA, AA, C or 9V] to test the VC, touch the terminals of the batt., [9V works best] to the speaker terminals, speaker should "pop" the cone will move in or out, [depending on how the batt. was connected], it makes no diff. to you, all you need to hear is the "pop". 94

im going to try this weekend when i go back home...if the midrange driver is indeed "blown" what should i do? should i replace the whole component system itself? if so, what brand do you recommend...for any type of suggestions i like to listen to my music loud...and i have a little rockford 150 and rockford 400/2 as amps (are those any good?) also i currently have a 10w6 with a 250/1..but im going to upgrade that system to a 10w7 with a 500/1...what components would go best with those, price range is about 175 and down....tia

Most manufactures do not sell "parts" for your component set, so you will have to replace the whole set.

What are the model numbers of the R/F amps, [ "rockford 150" rockford "400/2"]?

The JL Audio 250/1 is not near enough power for the 10W6, a 400W sub, however the 10W7 and the 500/1 are a very good match.

As for what components to use, that will depend on the amp you want to use on them, and if you want it loud, you will need some power. [watts] and a proper speaker install. Are you running rear speakers?

A cap on the system can't hurt, an alt. would be better. 94
