I think the build is going to sound great. The true purpose of a sub is to have a driver that reproduces low notes that require longer soundwaves (the cone to move slower) without the same driver to play the midrange notes (which would require the driver to move much faster). So, If you have a driver trying to do both, you're gonna end up with a distorted sound. So it doesn't matter if the sub is 8" or larger, we just want it seperate from the driver that is trying to play those shorter wavelength notes from the midrange to the longer wavelength notes required for the sub bass. So, If we have a large cone area moving more air, slower, sure, the bass will be "louder", but could be unnatural when it comes to the rest of the music. Sure, its fun to blow the doors off the car next to yours at a light bc you have larger woofers, if that is the kinda sound you're going for, but for a SQ car, is this really the way you wanna accomplish your sub bass?

sounds like a great SQ car, and for the people saying pick up other brands, you have no idea what kind of buy-ins some companies have. He might have to spend 10 grand just to be a dealer.

steve already posted about when he expected to release them...you have awhile to wait.

those 6.5" cdt ES-06+ GOLD have 15mm of xmax...pretty impressive for such a little guy. but they arent cheap. judging by the look of the design of those hat subs they dont have a lot of throw.

Edzy, you never posted where you were reading specs on the I6SW from HAT. i'd like to know what you read that makes you think it wouldn't be a good sub.

the way i read it was that 2k said he is basing his opinion on previous expierence with 6.5" subs, and that based on the pic, his perception hasn't changed. you based your opinion on a picture? that 6.5" sub has the same motor assembly as a sq 10" sub that is also in development...what about that says midbass driver??

The install of the ms-8 was straight forward. The guy tried installing it himself, but couldn't get it figured out. He came in and said, hey man, I've got it like 90% done, but can u finish it for me? (All he had done was run speaker wire to the oem radio, lol!) I didn't know too much abt the thing, I was like dude, where's your amp? He said he wanted to use the built in amp. I was like, WTF? This guy is on crack, but sure enough, it did have it's own little built in amp. I ran an 8awg power kit, grabbed all the speakers, and was stoked to give the thing a go, so with much anticipated excitement, I turn the bad boy on, and it proceeds to ask me for a calibration cd. Of course, burst my bubble like that, bc u know the guy didn't bring the disc with him. He has his wife bring it up to the shop, so my panties got all wet again, thinkin I was gonna get to tune the bad boy, but his oem radio doesn't recognize the data on his disc, now I'm just all kinds of sexually frustrated bc it was closing time, so hopefully I'll get to violate the thing tomorrow!

I'm basing my experience on that, too. I actually had 4 tang band 6.5's in my moms car not too long ago. When is the sub dropping? i want one now

Weird the cd didn't work. But yeah, you're gonna love that thing. It pretty much does 95% of the work for you.

A couple months ago, some guy came in with a new g37 and the ms8(first time i got to use it) And like anyone with a luxury car, he wanted to keep a somewhat oem look. So, i pop the door panel off to change the speakers, and what i do notice? the fronts come with 8's stock from the factory. They were pretty beefy 8's too. The problem(like with most stock systems) the crossovers in them suck so they sounded muddy and pretty bad like a typical bose system. I kept the stocks in and used the amp on the ms8 to see what this processor can really do and if it really lived up to the hype. Turned it on, ran the sweeps, set the crossovers. System sounded 100000x better with the shitty stock speakers. It had good imaging, good tonality and detail, and held together at higher volumes as well. To finish it off, i added a sundown 100.4 to give the speakers some more juice. First 2 channels gave the fronts 100 per and 300 was bridged to a 12" dayton sub http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=295-466

We used the amp on the ms8 to power a pair of 4" full rangers to take care of midrange and tweet duties. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=264-848

Morel of the story? the ms8 will make some of the shittiest sounding systems sound phenomenal.

Sorry for hijacking OP

either sealed or IB, it depends on overall specs when they are officially released. ideally i'd like small sealed enclosure. i'm hoping that they require little airspace. the ultra lv-6 is designed to run in .33 cu ft, so i'm hoping these are similar, in which case i'll be running them sealed.
