Can anyone tell me what are "MULTI-ELEMENT SPEAKERS" for? Please!!

I needed a central speaker for my car, the one speaker that goes mounted on the dash upfront, and went to the store and they sold me an Infinity Multi-element speaker... they come in pairs. And i dont know if i can use one of them as a central speaker (or subwoofer).

My old central speaker blew out and the sound now has no bass, that is all i need, bass. i havent install the new one i got, i wanted to see if anyone could help me before going through the trouble of installing it...

A "multi eliment speaker" [also called coax or triax] refers to a speaker that has more then one "motor" driving more then one cone, [with a basic x-over (cap) mounted to the mounted to the tweeter] it just means a speaker that has a woofer and tweeter in one "package" an apposed to a "component set" they have a woofer and a separate tweeter and normaly a separate, [higher quality] x-over.

So I understand, the "central" speaker you are talking about, what is it exactly...

1- Where is it mounted?

2- Is it stock, or aftermarket, and if aftermarket is it mounted in the stock location?

3- Are you talking about a subwoofer, [a 10" or 12" speaker mounted in a box in the back of the car]?

4- Or a center stage speaker, mounted in the center of your dash, or in the center behind you someplace. 94

5- Last but not least, what kind of car are we talking about, [MMY]?
