MP3 Decks?
I've got an alpine 7995 with the mp3 feature and i'm still undecided as to whether i like it or not. its a cool concept having 150-200 songs on a cd but the SQ difference of it is annoying. I started ripping my CD collection to MP3's and i picked 192kbs and then i tried 320. without actually playing them in the car i noticed a difference and gave up with that project. i now carry a 72CD wallet of cd's i usually listen to.
Well, what exactly are you noticing in loss of SQ? Most of the higher end alpines have a 3 level MX feature. 1 is all around boost, 2 is highs, and 3 is high and lows. DSP is another important aspect of radio's, and in which this case, alpine is the best on the market for the BBE reproduction of sound. SImilar to the high def sound of TV's.

if you read carefully, bitrate has A LOT to do with this thread. mp3s CANNOT match the sound quality of a cd for the simple fact that it is a compressed version of the original. if you have a DVD burner and you burn a 9gb dvd onto a 4.7gb disc, you must compress. a good eye will notice the compression. mp3s, just like compressed dvds, are very liveable, just not the same as the original.</TD></TR></TABLE> What he said, what I said
very good, just not, as good
